Select Development Group, a well-established General Contractor based in Southwest Florida, seeks an experienced Field Construction Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The position requires a highly motivated individual with exceptional communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Project Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project objectives
- Review project plans, proposals, and specifications
- Develop detailed project schedules and milestones
- Ability to manage large-scale projects from initiation to completion
Technical Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes
- Monitor construction progress and quality
- Address any technical issues promptly
- Evaluate contractor bids and proposals
- Must be able to perform manual labor as needed according to job requirements or instructions without any exceptions
Budget and Cost Management:
- Monitor expenses, track costs, and adjust as needed
- Review change orders and cost estimates
Subcontractor Management:
- Coordinate subcontractor activities
- Evaluate subcontractor performance
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and services
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project records
- Prepare progress reports for stakeholders
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Promote safety practices on-site
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Implement safety protocols
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct inspections to verify workmanship and adherence to standards
- Address any deficiencies promptly
- Ensure project quality meets expectations
Communication and Collaboration:
- Facilitate effective communication among project teams
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities
- Resolve conflicts and maintain project flow
Requirements and Qualifications
- High end residential and/or commercial experience required
- Detail-oriented mindset with a positive "can-do" attitude
- Outstanding communicator: able to synthesize complex information into simple, actionable insights and communicate technical building processes with construction and non-construction team members equally
- Commitment to providing a positive experience for all project stakeholders, clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and team members
- Strong personal integrity and the highest ethical standards
- Able to function in a positive, friendly, high-energy, and collaborative environment
- Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask, work well under pressure, and efficiently meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, preferably in project management or engineering roles
- Strong understanding of OSHA and other pertinent laws and regulations (OSHA certification a plus)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Bluebeam Certification and Buildertrend Certification (30 Days)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check
- Authorized to work in the United States
Compensation: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
